Have you ever wondered about the history of Lyons Township High School’s north campus? Well, now is your chance to take a step back in time and learn more at a lecture and walking tour hosted by art teacher and unofficial LT historian Patrick Page. On Wednesday, April 13th Mr. Page will recount the story behind the Parthenon frieze gallery at North Campus. You will also hear about some of the school’s better known alumni like David Hasselhoff, historic features like a lost WPA era mural, and the 1926-1928 building expansion that redefined LT and gave a home to the Sunday Evening Club! The LT History Presentation is scheduled for 7-8 p.m. in the North Campus Reber Center.
The following week, interested members of the public can take a walking tour with Mr. Page to learn more about the story behind North Campus. See how the school has grown from the original 1888 building to the 2016 cafeteria and discover interesting/overlooked artifacts along the way! Meet in the NC Cafeteria on Tuesday, April 19, 7-8pm.
Admission is free and open to all for both events.
