The Western Springs Historical Society would like to thank the Western Springs Business Association for including the Swedish Christmas Celebration at the Ekdahl House in the 2008 Christmas Walk activities. Special thanks go to all the residents who braved the wind and cold to help us celebrate a Swedish Christmas. This was truly an intergenerational community project which emphasized the culture and economic heritage of Western Springs.
We could not have done this without help from the Western Springs Business Association and Starbucks, Dominicks, Tom Druffel, Mike Doepke, Joe Lane, Al Enzbigilis, Barb Rozner and J.C. Licht. In addition we appreciated all the help from the The Western Springs Fire Department and Jim Reynolds and Paul Tegtmeier.
Many additional volunteers participated with the preparation, window displays, set up and take down, children’s activities and photography.
