The Western Springs Archives is home to a variety of historical records that document the village’s past – its people, government, businesses and traditions. Archival collections include historical records of local government administration, police & fire services, events “in the news”, town celebrations, public works, clubs, organizations, notable village residents, businesses, churches, schools and transportation. Records are in the form of books, photos, videos, maps, drawings, binders, magazines, phonebooks, scrapbooks, newspaper articles, real estate abstracts, government ordinances, plans, logbooks, etc.
Our team of Archives volunteers scans local newspapers and other resources on an on-going basis, seeking new additions to our records. We are happy to accept donations of historical materials and objects relevant to life in the village. If you have artifacts such as photographs, documents, household objects, etc with ties to the Village that you would like to donate, please contact the Society via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 708-246-9230. Due to limited storage space, all donations must be reviewed by the Historical Society prior to acceptance. Please see our donation guide for more details.
