Contemporary

Starting around 1965 and continuing through today, Contemporary homes have been constructed in response to current lifestyles. These houses tend to have large numbers of tall, oversized windows which may be trapezoidal shaped while the floor plans are usually large and open. The buildings generally lack ornamentation and use natural materials such as cedar and stone for their adornment. Sometimes the houses have gabled roofs and exposed beams. This style does not use historic references to derive its image.
