Western Springs Historical Society House Flags now on sale!

As part of its celebration of the Village’s 125th, the Western Springs Historical Society is selling Western Springs house flags.

The flags will be available exclusively at the Village True Value Hardware store, 835 Burlington Ave., and will sell for $25, with proceeds going to the Western Springs Historical Society.  The flags can be purchased seven days a week with cash or a check made out to the Western Springs Historical Society.

“We hope that people will purchase the flags and fly them on their homes to show pride in our community as well as help a good cause, “said WS Historical Society President Allyson Zak.  “The flag makes a great gift.”

The flags are dark green with white writing and feature the historic Water Tower and the words “Western Springs Founded in 1886.”   The flags can be hung from traditional flag poles.

“Village True Value Hardware is excited about partnering with the Western Springs Historical Society to celebrate our village’s 125th anniversary,” said Linda Johnson, owner of Village True Value Hardware.

The Western Springs Historical Society is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to instilling an appreciation of the village’s history of residents of all ages.  The Society operates the Water Tower Museum, which is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until noon, and maintains village archives and artifacts on the 2nd Floor of the Grand Avenue Community Center.  The Archives are open on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. until noon.

For more information, please call the Western Springs Historical Society at  708-246-9230 or Village True Value Hardware at 708-246-0892.
